7 tips to activities during social distancing

With recent events, governments are taking historically extreme measures to provide public safety; closing schools, closing borders and prohibiting social gatherings of more than 10 people and so forth. People are encouraged to stay home if possible.

While most of us are lucky enough to have work or studies to conduct at home, we are going to have more free time on our hands than normal, and there are bound to be moments when we’re thinking “what now?”

Year three has begun

As I probably have stated before, I am a teacher student. I am now about a month into year three. and it’s come time to think about my bachelor’s thesis. To become a teacher in Finland, you need to study up to a master’s degree, so I still have a long way to go. But it is great to have come this far.

What I am particularly excited about this year is my minor. I decided to minor in music (why, I have no idea) but somehow I am really enthusiastic about it. Along with many other stuff, we get to have instrument lessons, much like when I studied at a music college some years back. Now I get to learn piano and guitar, as well as get to have some singing lessons as well. It’s really great and keeps me going with the rest of the stuff, that mostly has something to do with learning about different types of research, and actually doing research.

What I am really grateful for, are my friends at the university. Though my class barely has any lectures all together anymore, there is still a certain sense of togetherness and we have a lot of support for each other whenever anyone needs it.

Just two girls meeting up because our parents had met a few weeks back and thought we’d get along well. I don’t know what I was expecting, not really. I just thought I’d go there and see what would happen. I did expect for us to talk for a while, but I didn’t know we’d end up talking for three hours straight! Continue reading “New friends”
