Year three has begun

As I probably have stated before, I am a teacher student. I am now about a month into year three. and it’s come time to think about my bachelor’s thesis. To become a teacher in Finland, you need to study up to a master’s degree, so I still have a long way to go. But it is great to have come this far.

What I am particularly excited about this year is my minor. I decided to minor in music (why, I have no idea) but somehow I am really enthusiastic about it. Along with many other stuff, we get to have instrument lessons, much like when I studied at a music college some years back. Now I get to learn piano and guitar, as well as get to have some singing lessons as well. It’s really great and keeps me going with the rest of the stuff, that mostly has something to do with learning about different types of research, and actually doing research.

What I am really grateful for, are my friends at the university. Though my class barely has any lectures all together anymore, there is still a certain sense of togetherness and we have a lot of support for each other whenever anyone needs it.

Unlike other teacher education programs in Finland, ITE is taught mainly in English and it concentrates on challenges teachers face in a multicultural classroom. The program is a combined bachelor’s and master’s program, taking approximately five years. So far I have really enjoyed the program, and the people who I’ve met and study with are amazing.

Outside of my studies I am Continue reading “Introductions”
